Ginnie obtained her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree (Painting and Drawing) from the Ohio State University in 1999 and her MFA (Painting) from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2003. She has since returned to Columbus, making art and teaching painting, drawing and art history at The Ohio State University, Columbus State Community College and Columbus College of Art and Design. Her work has been shown locally and nationally. Ginnie also serves as a member of the Ohio Art League’s programming committee.
Ginnie's work is a hybrid of playfulness and longing. She often experiments with materials and objects to see how/if re-contextualizing them changes how they are perceived. She is interested in the capabilities of painting and drawing materials. Much of her current work is an investigation and celebration of non-objective forms and the possibilities held within. She is interested in exploring the relationship between the accidental and the intentional.
