Proposal Title
The Raptors Press

Please describe your proposal?
The raptors press will be a small publishing press by and for kids and teens. Writers and editors under 21 will create, print, and sell their own anthologies, zines, and books. They will produce audio versions of these works and publish them online. They will organize community readings and other literary events. This press/collective will be a sort of outreach program that helps kids develop important literary and business skills

What is the timeframe for the proposal and its completion?
We expect to publish our first anthology two-three months after we receive sufficient funding. How will you use the award money to complete the proposal? The award money will be spent on printing costs (at 2 cents per page and 60$ total for the book covers), recording costs (approximately 50$ for a mic), and the costs of all the events for the year (100$ for about 10 literary events)

What makes this the proposal to vote for?
This press/collective would be the first of its kind for young writers. It would afford young people the opportunity to publish their work as serious and talented young writers. It would also create the opportunity for young writers to explore their craft in literary workshops, readings, and lectures. Young writers and editors would receive hands-on experience in their craft and would also learn skills in recording and marketing. It would essentially be a small publishing business run by kids.
