Boryana Rusenova

Boryana is a visual artist, who works in mixed media. She grew up in Bulgaria and attended Columbus College of Art and Design. Her focus was on fine art. In 2009 she graduate a joined master’s degree in art education from the Glasgow School of Art and Glasgow University in Scotland. Her current work is a combination of drawings and paintings that explore ideas of fragmentation and motion blurs. Her inspiration for the Motion Blurs body of work began with a series of photographs she took while driving in attempt to record a long journey. Since then her work centers mostly on ideas of time, space and narrative distortion in a mixed media style of work.
During graduate school, Boryana started working on a drawing exhibition in Scotland called ‘Waiting in line‘ that looked at the process of drawing in relation to motion blur photography. Boryana has also exhibited in her native Bulgaria at the National City Gallery in Plovdiv. She currently lived and works in Columbus, Ohio.
